About us

Jawahar Sports Club is one of the oldest Cricket Clubs in Karnataka. I would like to appraise your kind self about our Cricket Club (Jawahar Sports Club) in brief. Jawahar Sports Club was founded in the year 1947 in the month of August by a group of like-minded & eminent cricketers & cricket lovers who resided in the Malleshwaram locality. The motive of all these visionaries was to provide an opportunity for the local boys to play cricket and to make a carrier out of it. From there on the journey of the club started and reached great heights and emerged as one of the top cricket clubs of the state. Till today the club has kept the reputation of following the principles and its agenda set by the great founders in 1947.

Jawahar Sports Club

Jawahar celebrated its 60th Birthday during the year 2007. Jawahar has recognized itself as a Common man’s club and it has geographically identified its home as Malleshwaram.

As the Origin and Status of the club are in direct relation with its players, management, its patrons and its well-wishers, I would like to mention few names from all the above departments of the club. Some of the outstanding cricketers who represented Jawahars are V.Subramanya (International Cricketer), M.R.Srinivasaprasad and A.Vijay (represented India in the

Boards President and India A respectively), K.VasaudevaMurthy, V.Krishnaprasad, V.Anantha Ram, C.S.Venugopal, H.Jayram, M.R.Krishna who all represented the Karnataka State have all brought great loyal to our club. Apart from the above-mentioned players a lot of players represented State Juniors, Universities, and English County.
